Why would my check engine light ('97 honda accord lx) come on?

i just changed the spark plugs/wires and my check engine light has come on. the car has 180k miles and i just drove it 1900 miles from arkansas to california. the check engine light is on and i have oil in the area where the spark plugs are. what could be wrong and how can it be fixed? thanks!Why would my check engine light (%26039;97 honda accord lx) come on?

Go to Autozone or a local Auto parts store and see if they have a OBDII reader for you to borrow. Get the code from the CEL and go online to find out the corresponding diagnosis. Then go from there.
